# Postural-sway transcription check

Package version: 1.0.0 · prepared 2026-10-24.

## What this checks

Confirms that the transcribed 0.1 Hz amplitude-modulated / no-music ratio sits inside its reported interval, that the interval excludes 1, and that the six family outcomes match the abstract.

Paper DOI: https://doi.org/10.1177/14613484261499171

The source recordings are the PhysioNet dataset https://doi.org/10.13026/x32c-cz47. This package does not download or read those files.

## Run locally

Prerequisite: Python 3.10 or later, CPU only. No third-party packages, GPU, network, credentials, or dataset download is required.

Extract the complete ZIP, open a terminal in its folder, and run:

```sh
python check.py
```

An assertion failure exits nonzero. A successful check prints the numeric result and a scope-specific PASS message. The equivalent notebook contains the same Python code; open notebook.ipynb with its working directory set to this extracted folder. A notebook environment is optional and is not bundled.

## Expected output

Ratio 1.129 inside 1.038–1.230. The interval excludes 1. Family outcomes match the abstract: music supported, interaction unsupported, nonlinear null, spectral null, surrogate failed, classifiers at chance.

## Inputs and provenance

source.json is the portfolio transcription of the abstract and the PhysioNet design counts. It is not a force-plate recording.

provenance.json records the source, scope, package version, and SHA-256 hashes of the executable check, input data, and expected output. README, Python, equivalent notebook, source JSON, expected JSON, and provenance are included together in the ZIP.

## Limits

This check does not reanalyze the 334 usable trials, rerun 99,999 participant-blocked permutations, or fit a classifier. Passing it confirms the transcription, not an independent discovery.

No public full-paper code archive is linked from this portfolio. A successful check must not be described as reproducing the full paper.
